The Game In February 9, 1895 in Hoyoke, Massachusetts, USA, YMCA
physical education director, William G Morgan created a game called Mintonette,
which latter developed what we call volleyball now. However
a game somewhat resemble volleyball played in 1591 in England.
The name 'Volleyball' came into light after an observer, Alfred
Halstead, noticed
the volleying nature of the game at its first exhibition match in 1896
at the International YMCA Training School (now called Springfield
